If you have a Spotify playlist, you may have heard that it will get the first song to appear on it.
The Spotify team says that, as of this month, they will be adding two more songs to the playlist, one from the UK and one from China.
The UK song, which is called ‘My Body’, was first featured on the streaming service in May 2017, when it was announced that it would be the theme song for the upcoming season of The Voice.
This year, the US version of the song was released last week.
While there are no official details about what exactly the US song will sound like, it’s speculated to be inspired by The Weeknd’s ‘Royals’.
A Spotify spokesperson told us that it is unlikely that the US title will appear on the UK version of Sparkling Grape Juice.
“We’ll keep the UK title as it is and will release a US title when we release a UK title,” the spokesperson said.
There are a few other Spotify songs that will likely appear in the US that were not previously available.
‘Karma’ was one of the first songs to appear in a US playlist, and will now be featured on an upcoming US release of the UK release of My Body.
It’s unclear whether the US release will include ‘Bitter’ or ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.
“We will release the UK Sparkling grape and My Body titles as soon as we have them available on the US iTunes Store,” the Spotify spokesperson added.
There is also a mystery song that will not be on any US Spotify releases, although Spotify did not respond to a request for comment.
There have been a number of Spotify songs in the UK, but none in the States.
In January, the streaming giant announced that a handful of UK-only songs would be coming to Spotify in 2017.
The first two were ‘Passion’ and ‘Till I Come Back’.
“It’s our hope that we can release these UK tracks as soon the UK releases them, but we won’t make it official until they are available,” Spotify said.
“However, you can expect to hear these tracks in your US library soon enough.”
Spotify’s strategy of releasing new songs in US stores is unusual.
The streaming service is one of many in the entertainment industry to release new music each week, which means that artists who have been signed to a contract in the past will likely be able to retain their royalties if they release new songs on Spotify.
It has been speculated that Spotify will release ‘Frozen Blueberry’ and the US versions of the ‘Royales’ and The Weekends’ songs this year.
The other song on Spotify that will make it onto the US store is ‘My Blue Heaven’.
This track, which was first released in 2015, was made available to streaming subscribers in 2016.
It was released in the United States last week and will be available on Spotify’s US store in March.
